Rewards for Health Coaches

All Health Coaches who sign up to participate receive:

  • HKHS Portfolio
  • "Goodie Bag" with a selection of resources and rewards to share with students and staff who participate and help with wellness activities, including coupons, merchandise and gift cards sponsored by local organizations and businesses
  • Posters, guides and other tools to use in your school

Plus, all participating Health Coaches who complete the spring 2010 activities receive:

  • Banner for school recognizing your involvement and accomplishments
  • Behind-the-scenes guided tour of the Houston Texans facility
  • Chance to win one of 20 free one-hour massages, Texans tickets, Kroger shopping sprees, YMCA Memberships and other prizes provided by area sponsors as available (see below)

Program Participation - 1st Place Reward*

For the highest level of School/Student Participation

One Year YMCA family membership card and $500 VISA Card

Awarded to a Health Coach in May

Program Participation - 2nd and 3rd Place Rewards*

For the next two highest levels of School/Student Participation

One Year YMCA individual membership and $250 VISA Card

Awarded to two Health Coaches in May

Prize Drawing for $150 & $100 Kroger Shopping Spree

For Health Coaches with at least 30 students completing the online student exercise

Awarded to a Health Coach in May

Prize Drawing for 10 pairs of Houston Texans Football Game Tickets

For Health Coaches who complete the online post-activity survey

Awarded to 10 Health Coaches in April/May

One Month YMCA City-wide Family Membership

For all Health Coaches who complete the final program survey

Awarded to all qualifying Health Coaches in April/May


*First, second and third place prizes will be awarded to the Health Coaches with the highest level of school/student participation based on:

  • Percent of school's students who register and track their healthy eating and physical activity choices on Fuel Up to Play 60 (www.fueluptoplay60.com).
  • Percent of school's students who participate in the Step It Up pedometer contest (or an equivalent school-wide, multi-week physical activity project.
  • Percent of school's students who complete the start-up and follow-up surveys.
  • Percent of school's families that respond to the parent/caregiver mini-survey.
